The ADRM Credit Reporting industry models are a set of integrated logical data models developed to support credit bureaus and organizations providing credit gathering and reporting applications.
Credit bureaus or credit reporting agencies collect credit and payment information from merchants, lenders, landlords and other credit providers on a monthly basis. They then aggregate and sell the information to businesses so they can evaluate customer applications for credit.
There are over 1,000 local and regional credit bureaus in the US. These smaller local and regional bureaus are usually affiliated with one of three large national credit bureaus - Equifax, Experian or Transunion.
Lenders make their decisions based on different criteria, so having a comprehensive set of data ensures that all the information is available to make good decisions.
A credit report is an accumulation of credit information about how consumers pay bills and repay loans, how much credit they have available, what their monthly debts are and other types of similar credit information that help a potential lender decide on the risk of lending to that individual. Credit reports do not in themselves determine whether an individual is a good or bad credit risk - but they do provide credit lenders with the information to formulate the decision themselves.
Typical credit report information includes:
PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION - Name, current and previous address, social security number, telephone number(s) , birth date, current and previous employers and spouse information.
CREDIT HISTORY - Bill-paying history with businesses such as retail stores, banks, finance companies and mortgage companies that have granted credit in the past. Information about each account is included such as the date it was opened, type of account, amount of credit, monthly payments, missed and late payments.

PUBLIC RECORDS - Information available from public records such as tax liens, court judgment and bankruptcies.
INQUIRES - Identifies credit providers who have received a copy of the consumer credit report as well as companies that have received names and addresses in order to offer credit based on predetermined credit criteria applied to a list of individuals (ex: "pre-approved" credit card offers).
DISPUTE STATEMENTS
- Statements by the individual disputing information on their credit report.
Most credit bureaus allow both the consumer and the creditor to make
statements to the report.
